Crazy Days

I don’t like to talk about work too much. At least not too many details. I think the people who come to a hospital deserve some privacy. So I won’t mention any specific names or identifying details.

Last night was the most crazy busy shift I’ve seen yet. We had all kinds of people coming in by private auto and it seemed like for every ambulance that left the E. R. there was another on it’s way in. The E.R. was a revolving door the entire time I was on duty.

Who’s Keeping Tabs on the Bailout

If you are curious about the Federal Government’s plans for disbursing the bailout money, you might be interested in a new web site called bailoutsleuth.com.

When there is that much money being passed around, you can be sure there are plenty of Bush cronies ready to grab their share of the pie. In fact, I suspect a lot of this was engineered a very long time ago to be the final payoff by Bush, timed for just before he leaves office.

The whole thing stinks and the amount of money so quickly and so freely given is just staggering.

Congress Knuckles Under with Tons of Pork

So the Senate passes a bail out bill with tons of pork attached and sends it over to the House of Representatives. After several days of politicking and behind the scenes deals, the House met on Friday and passes the bail out bill. It was hand carried over to Presidnet Bush who signed it immediately.

The big whigs on Wall Street must be partying their asses off this weekend. I know that the executives at AIG all went to a 5 star resort to celebrate their Government bail out gift. This whole thing makes me so disgusted I can’t even speak.

No Bailout for Wall Street

Not that I pay much attention to the stock market, but the news all last week was about how dire the economy is, with a huge bailout requested by President Bush for Wall Street.

The housing market has been in trouble for almost a year now and now insurance companies and banks are in trouble.

The talking heads on the news channels have been declaring this an economic emergency and insisting that Congress needs to take taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street. Well, I don’t think that is the best solution to this situation and it is nothing more than the consequences of Bush’s faulty and failed economic policies these past 8 years. To come from an economic surplus that was left by the Clinton administration to the dire situation we are in now is more than just egg on the face of the President.

Sure enough the expected vote in Congress did not happen today. The bailout was voted down in the House of Representatives. And the Dow closed down almost 800 points today. Should not have been a surprise to these people.

Court Records Online

Just chatting with Kelly over a couple sandwiches from Subway and taking a break between classes, we were discussing the fact that a lot of public information is now available over the internet and in many cases the challenge is just to find the right URL or right links to get what you want. For example, the names and addresses of landowners of record are available through the state of Tennessee, but you can’t Google anything to come up with the right URL for the information.

The same thing goes for other public records, like marriage licenses, divorce records and other Court Records. You have to know where to look. Some sites are free and other charge a nominal fee. In my opinion, I don’t mind paying a fee if the information is fast and reliable.
