Error Messages

Computers are great when they work. But when they get jiggy they can drive me nuts. My desktop computer is becoming very temperamental, so Alex and his geek friends are coming over to do surgery on the PC tonight while I’m at work. I hope its something minor - the error messages that I get don’t really explain what the problem is. If Mac can put plain English error messages on their computers why can’t Microsoft do the same thing? I tell you - I’m THIS close to ditching the PC and getting a Mac!

EDG Binoculars Rock

This weekend is dedicated to Halloween but the next weekend is going to be outdoors. Two of my buddies that live down here want to go up the mountain and camp out. I’m ready for a couple of days outdoors and have to see if I have all the gear I need for a weekend in the woods.

One thing I know we don’t have is a good pair of binoculars. I’ve had my eye on some All Terrain Binoculars by Nikon. They are running an awesome commercial on the new Edg binoculars. Plus they have Free ATB Pro Gear offers, like a $50 Nikon gift card with the purchase of a Monarch ATB binocular. The special promo is good until December 31, 2008, so I might even take them up on it for some Christmas shopping, too.

Alex to Rehab

Great news for Alex today - he’s out of his leg cast and is going to start rehab. His leg is really weak, so he’ll need strengthening exercises. The rehab is across the street from the hospital, so I might be able to help him out with some of the transportation issues. He can’t drive yet - his leg isn’t strong enough to work the clutch in his car. There are some advantages to have an automatic transmission. If it was an emergency Alex could always just borrow my car. Glad the cast is off - just in time for all the parties this weekend!

Final Lap

If you are as sick as I am about this presidential campaign, I’m sure you are as happy as I am that we are down to the final lap.

I’ve got a pact with Alex. Since he was going to vote for the opposite candidate that I was going to vote for, neither one of us will actually vote. It makes no sense to both vote when our votes will cancel out each other. I know there are local elections, too, but since I’m not living at home I really don’t know about the local candidates and I don’t care who wins. I’ll let the people actually effected have their voice and I’ll wait to vote in the next election when I’m out of school and settled someplace.

Fall Break

This week we don’t have classes. I wish I could go home for a visit, but I have to work and this is a good chance to hang out with some of my new friends.

Kelly has gone home to see her folks, but she calls me every morning to say hey.

I’m driving Alex to his doctor’s appointment this morning. His leg is healing up great and the cast should come off soon. That will make a huge difference in his mobility and we can get back to the normal active lifestyle here. Looking forward to a nice hike up Lookout Mountain before it gets too cold.
