Fresh Fruit
Stopped by Publix to pick up some fresh fruit - they usually have the best selection of fresh vegetables and fruits of all the grocery stores in this area. Well, I haven’t been to the Whole Food store, so that may not be completely true. Guess I should stop by the Whole Food store one of these days and see what they’ve got.
Stocked up on some fresh pears, fresh avocados, and cantalopes. Obviously I don’t all of these at the same time. The cantalope is for breakfast, the pears are for an afternoon snack, and the avocado is for a dinner salad.
The cantalopes are from somewhere in America - it doesn’t say where exactly. I’m thinking this time of year it is probably the southwest, like maybe Texas. Later in the summer the best cantalopes are from Maryland. There’s something about the sandy soil in Maryland that makes melons turn so sweet and juicy - they are always awesome. but the ones in the stores here right now are really good, too. I went back and bought a second one after I cut open the first one and tasted how good it is.
