Backup for the iPhone
My dad has an iPhone that he bought as soon as they came out. He’s a gadget freak - wants to buy the newest, best, fastest, whatever electronics come out. He found out pretty quick how time consuming it was to put all the phone numbers and names from his old cell phone into the iPhone. So when I asked him today what he would do if he dropped and broke his iPhone, or if someone stole it, or whatever, so that he had to buy a new one and start putting in all those numbers and names again, plus all the other stuff he downloaded to his iPhone. That’s when he realized that backing up his iPhone is just as important as backing up his PC. I mean, how many times do you have to go through all that before you start thinking about a better way?
Dad already uses an Online Backup for his laptop and that works out great for him. So it turns out the same online site lets him backup all the data from his iPhone. So now if anything happens to the iPhone, he’s got most of his stuff saved and ready to upload to the replacement iPhone. Yeah, he owes me for this one. He wouldn’t have done it if I hadn’t started teasing him about it.

On the subject of file backup, sharing and storage …
Online backup is becoming common these days. It is estimated that 70-75% of all PC’s will be connected to online backup services with in the next decade.
Thousands of online backup companies exist, from one guy operating in his apartment to fortune 500 companies.
Choosing the best online backup company will be very confusing and difficult. One website I find very helpful in making a decision to pick an online backup company is:
http://www.BackupReview.info
This site lists more than 400 online backup companies in its directory and ranks the top 25 on a monthly basis.
