Shocker
My buddy Aaron didn’t come in today and I just checked my phone and found a nasty surprise in a text message from him. Last night when his mom got home she walked into the house and found his dad on the floor, dead from a heart attack. OMG.
This guy worked in construction and seemed to be fit and healthy for a guy in his fifties. I had no idea he had any kind of heart condition and that he would die from congestive heart failure with no warning. I mean, I was just over there on Saturday hanging out for a couple hours and wrangling a dinner invitation and he seemed fine.
But you know, maybe there were some warnings that he didn’t recognize. I want to learn more about that - I’m planning to watch the videos on St. Jude Medical’s website and get a heads up on cardiac arrest. Sudden cardiac arrest kills 325,000 people a year, which is about 900 people per day. So I guess at some point this will affect just about everyone’s life or get someone that you know and care about. It sure busted into my life last night and now Aaron’s family has lost their main man.
